CAFTCAD mourns the loss of Derek Van Lint, Icon and Mentor to countless Cinematographers and Filmakers around the world.

His passionate career in Cinematography began with his groundbreaking style of shooting on Ridley Scott's "ALIEN" and continued in his monumental body of work in films and commercials. We were honoured to have him as guest speaker for "The Art of Cinematography" at our 2009 Caftcademy Seminars.

He was a true "Master of Light and Motion"and will be missed dearly by all of us who had the pleasure of sharing his remarkable life.
