One day while pursuing her collection of single buttons, CAFTCAD Member Joanna Syrokomla wondered what to do with all those sparkling beauties. Of what use could they be? She grouped them together by colour and felt they spoke such a history of garment design and a nostalgia left from the fastening of cocktail dresses, brocade coats, military jackets, and other finery. Buttons in a jar were such a beautiful stripe needing to be dusted off and seen. She started sewing them into layers onto bracelets and found quite an audience with many coming back again and again for the latest JO.SY Collection vintage button cuff.
Available usually only by request or at the Bi-Annual CAFTCAD Movie Wardrobe Sales, these button cuffs and now chunky bib button necklaces will be for sale by Member Ian Drummond at the Toronto Vintage Clothing and Textile Show. The Ian Drummond Collection will be selling many incredible vintage and designer garments and accessories from the 1940’s through 1990’s.
