Inspired by her many years as an Interior designer, Laurie’s embroidery became the perfect way to combine her love of design with her passion for pattern, textiles and costume.  The past 4 years has seen her work embellish some of the most amazing costumes on television.  Her work can be seen on the 3rd and 4th season of Reign, a piece for the 1st season of Star Trek: Discovery and others. 

A vintage reconstruction of an 1850’s beaded cape for the 4th season of The Strain, has led to an exciting addition to her business - Vintage clothing repair and reconstruction, which she is doing for a few of Toronto’s rental and vintage stores.

Laurie has been a member of CAFTCAD since 2017 and along with volunteering, she has developed and taught embroidery courses geared to Costume Designers and stitchers.
