Role overview:
The Fundraising & Marketing Coordinator position is a unique opportunity for a driven Fundraising Professional to plan, manage and oversee the funding streams of a small not-for-profit arts organization closely connected to the film and television industry as well as lead on associated marketing deliverables. The ideal candidate will be coming with formal education in a marketing and/or financial studies related program (at undergraduate or postgraduate level), with experience working within fundraising for not-for-profit organizations.
Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of this role include (but not limited to):
Plan, organize and lead the execution of CAFTCAD’s annual sponsorship campaign(s)
Assist in the creation of CAFTCAD’s annual sponsorship package
Actively manage a portfolio of key sponsorship partners, ensuring business objectives and revenue goals of CAFTCAD and the sponsorship partners are met
Building meaningful and professional relationships with potential sponsors, stakeholders, advertisers, and funders
Play a key role in finance generation for the organization (including sponsorship, advertising sales, and other fundraising initiatives)
Identifying opportunities for acquiring new sponsors and partners and upgrading existing sponsors
Ideate and develop new and imaginative fundraising routes/opportunities for the organization
Updating and maintaining of documents, packages, and critical paths to reflect the developments of marketing and fundraising campaigns, goals, deadlines, and efforts
Scheduling and fulfilling sponsorship obligations to CAFTCAD sponsors, ensuring all obligations are executed by the end of the sponsorship term
Working closely with CAFTCAD staff on initiatives, events, and content that relates to fundraising and marketing efforts
Assist in generating advertising sales for CAFTCAD’s external magazine, BeSpoke
Ongoing internal communication with staff, sponsors, board members, and key stakeholders by email and by phone
Identify opportunities for promotion of CAFTCAD members and their work
The above job description is not exhaustive and will require someone who is able to perform other duties as required. The role will require flexibility, including working some evenings and weekends. In return, the Fundraising & Marketing Coordinator has the opportunity to accrue lieu time which can be added onto vacation days. Flexible working in terms of hours and location are open to discussion and negotiation, with remote work making up the majority of work hours.
Requirements:
Essential
Completion of post-secondary education or a combination of relevant experience
2+ years or more experience in fund development, fundraising, marketing, promotion
Experience in a not-for-profit or arts organization in a fundraising capacity is a definite asset
Proven ability in generating funding through means of sponsorship, partnerships, and grants
Pre-existing relationships and knowledge of potential donors and sponsors in the arts and film sector
Deadline and results-oriented, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Professional communication skills with the ability to build meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with sponsors, partners, and stakeholders
Ability to confuct successful “cold calls” and “cold emails”
Intermediate knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Canva
Strong writing skills
Excellent time-management skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Ability to multitask and work under pressure with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate the vision and key messages of CAFTCAD and the CAFTCAD Awards to the public and applicable communities
Interest in the costume arts community within film and television
Desirable
Knowledge of the film and television industry, specifically the costume industry
Experience working within non-profit or not-for-profit environment
Grant writing experience
Ability to attend periodic in-person events or meetings in Toronto, Ontario
