Isolda Virgínia
EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBER
My name is Isolda Virgínia and I am a Brazilian Costume and Fashion Designer. I am on the Autistic Spectrum Level 1 of support and I graduated from the British School of Creative Arts & Technology, am represented by CCA Couture Culture and Arts, and am a member of the Canadian Alliance of Film and Television Costume Arts and Design.
I was born in the northeast of Brazil in a city called Recife in the state of Pernambuco. Recife is a city full of history, considered the capital of the multicultural carnival, but also recognized for hosting the most authentic carnival in Brazil. I have been living and working in Canada for 7 years, where I have developed my creative process. My designs move between the versatile, the sophisticated, the sexy, the bold and the timeless, and are created for people of all body types.
It is also important to highlight that I develop projects that address issues of environmental responsibility and rational consumption. My projects highlight the creative, conscious and sophisticated fashion that involves a reflection on the values, purposes and impacts of fashion on society and the environment, seeking a more harmonious, respectful and meaningful ways of dressing.
My work ranges from artistic presentations and fashion shows, as well as projects where I’ve created costumes for dance, theater and film.
My brand is constantly improving, with pieces crafted in striking details, aiming to simply enhance people of all shapes and sizes so that they feel confident and empowered. My designs are created for appreciation and composition, and for people of all origins and orientations without exception!
In addition to artisanal work, I’ve showcased creations that exude delicacy inspired by the traditions of northeastern Brazil.
