The CAFTCAD Reference Library is home to over 1,500 books and 500 periodicals on fashion, art, and textile history spanning centuries from ancient to modern times, as well as costume crafts and sewing techniques.

With materials published as far back as 1900, the library has grown through donated collections from costume professionals, institutions, and hobbyists, and it is CAFTCAD's hope that it can continue to be of use to anyone interested in costume research.

Visits to the library are by appointment only. To book an appointment, email CAFTCADreferencelibrary@gmail.com

  • The library is located at Tribro Studios, 6 Curity Avenue, Door A, Toronto, ON M4B 1X2

  • Tribro Studios has limited public parking, however there is a public parking lot across the street at Home Depot

  • Visits to the library are made by appointment only from Monday - Friday, 10am - 4pm. To book your visit, please email CAFTCADreferencelibrary@gmail.com. Library visits require approval from Tribro Studios and can take up to seven business days.

    For those requesting visits outside of office hours, please email us with additional information.

    We suggest emailing a minimum of 48 hours prior for scheduled visits.

  • We are a reference library, meaning that all reading must be done at the library. There are tables for reading and you are able to photograph and/or copy pages.
